Amazing what 24 hours can mean in the life of the NFL Draft. The Houston Texans made the decision to sign Mario Williams today and thus ends the speculation of the first pick. I have been asking Jishman if things had changed in Houston, he assured me they hadn’t although all of the rumors pointed in that direction.
Well, That Means the news on Saturday will be about the REGGIE BUSH SWEEPSTAKES… and not where the heck the three quarterbacks will end up. Actually, the Reggie Bush deal really hurts Matt Leinart in my book… he will fall….
Here is my previous mock draft…
Before I get any further into the mock draft below. This has been one of the more challenging years to predict. I have run about 80% to 90% for the top 15 in years past. This year if I run 50/50 for the top 15… I will be pretty impressed…. after the top 15, all heck can break loose.
Without any further adieu, here is my final 2006 NFL Mock Draft:
1) The Houston Texans– Mario Williams, DE, NC State
TRADE ALERT~~~TRADE ALERT~~~TRADE ALERT!!!

Updating my previous mock draft… This time, I do predict two credible trades that I believe will happen in the first round… I know some disagree with calling trades when I don’t work for ESPN or any other affiliate but it’s my mock draft and if you don’t like it, post your own.
With that said…. My Updated 2006 NFL Mock Draft:
1) The Houston Texans– Reggie Bush, RB, USC
2) The New Orleans Saints– Mario Williams, DE, NC State
New Orleans could trade the pick. The only partner I see them having is Oakland. Then it becomes a question of who the Saints want more, Ferguson or Williams? I think they want Williams more.
3) The Tennessee Titans– Matt Leinart, QB, USC
I am not sold on Leinart, yet. Bud Adams likes Young more then Leinart so this comes down to an internal war. I think Leinart wins right now but this could change.

…But, I’m sorry. Indonesia has refused to play a Fed Cup Series in Israel (with whom Indonesia has no diplomatic relations, yet still they are opening their borders for this event.) I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous.

Okay… Talk about jobs perks… some of these would be nice!
Try this one:
Employees at New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins, Colo. receive a case of beer a week, which the company does not recommend they drink while riding the bike (like the one on the label of NBB’s Fat Tire Amber Ale) that they get after a year on the job. After five years, they go to Belgium to sample the brews that inspired the company’s creation.
FREE BEER!!!
or this one:
Brogan & Partners, a Michigan marketer, takes its 60 employees on annual mystery junkets - no one’s told the destination (they’ve hit Amsterdam, Iceland and the Caribbean). At UCG, a Rockville, Md. business publisher, the 1,000 workers (and significant others) are sent on a surprise, all-expenses-paid long weekend every five years.
Although, if you read through the article…the all-expense paid concierge service would be nice… I need to find a better perk laden position!

How ironic is it that a Fox News reporter is going to work for the Bush Administration.
Fox News commentator Tony Snow agreed last night to become White House press secretary after top officials assured him that he would be not just a spokesman but an active participant in administration policy debates, people familiar with the discussions said.
And the really amusing quote:
Snow views himself as well positioned to ease the tensions between this White House and the press corps because he understands both politics and journalism

Since the Jishman made a little post about Golf Trips, I thought I would add in that I personally love Scuba Diving Trips:
I just got back from Florida, and took the opportunity of being in Florida to go SCUBA diving. If you have never been, I highly recommend it. The training takes 5 classes, 5 pool sessions, and 4 Open Water certification dives. The cost isn’t very cheap either, but it is well worth it.
On my 4 dives last week, I saw a baby sea turtle (at a distance of a few feet), a HUGE manta ray (at a distance of about 6 inches), and a 6 foot long moray eel that pretty much molested my dive buddy. I completed my 10th overall dive and I cannot wait to get to #11.

Good morning everyone! Just wanted to pass a few pieces of news along before we go out for this, the third day of the annual Golf Nuts Golf Trip. (woohoo!)
1.) Golf trips rule. Everyone who enjoys playing golf should go on one. Yesterday, alone, I played 36 holes, and shot under 100 for the first time in over a year. (woohoo!!)
2.) There is nothing more stereotypical than guys sitting around, drinking scotch, watching the Godfather and arguing about Baseball. and I mean, NOTHING!.
3.) I got into American University’s MBA program on Friday. WOOHOO!!! As of right now, that is the number one option.
More news at 11…..

That is a simple question, what is the worst song of all time?
CNN music critic Todd Leopold thinks “Honey” is the worst song ever.
Other at CNN came up with this list:
These are the songs CNN employees nominated as the worst song ever:
–Starship’s “We Built This City,” a No. 1 hit from 1985, which was also named Blender magazine’s worst song ever.
–The Starland Vocal Band’s “Afternoon Delight”
–Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart”
–Mr. Mister’s “Broken Wings”
–Don Johnson’s “Heartbeat”
–C.W. McCall’s “Convoy”
–Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy”
–Rick Dees’ “Disco Duck”
–Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps”
–Richard Harris’ “MacArthur Park”
Using the following Rules:
1. The song had to have been a hit, the kind you hear on the radio so often you can’t change the station fast enough.
2. It can’t have been a song that wore out its welcome through repetition. A really bad song is one you hate from the beginning.
I ask the readers of Riddle Me This, Jishman: What is the worst song of all time?

If this guy doesn’t make you crack a smile… you have no sense of humor!
Okay….we must have a little fun at the expense of the President whenever we can… is this really an answer?!
SNL had fun with American Idol contestant Taylor Hicks
We definitely need a Presidential Pop Quiz from time to time!

As someone who has to sit through the stupid training every year put out by the Maryland Dept. of Ed. on how to give standardized tests, all I can say is: You are a freaking dumbass. Really. Come on now. Coaching kids on a standardardized exam. Freaking. Dumbass. And the poor kids had to take the test again!! And all they got to make up for it was pizza and lunch from Mickey D’s. I would have insisted an extra hour of recess, art, or music each day for the rest of the school year for my kids if I was one of their teachers. Elementary school kids already get less of these things because of time taken for test prep and administration.
