I love soccer. As Dan Rydell once said, “if anyone knows anything about me, its that I eat, breathe, sleep and dream soccer.” And last night, you were able to experience a true Clash of the Titans as Man U and Barcelona fought in a Maalox inducing, nail biting, live on the razor’s edge, never say die battle - ending in a 1-0 BARN BURNER! Here was a summary quote for you, see if you can find fault in it:
Well that was more like it! A pulsating game. Not choc full of chances but heaving with drama, intriuge and some sumptuous football. Barca had oodles of possession but United got the only statistic that matters - a goal. And what a goal it was! The Ginger Ninja previals!
Too….many….jokes…..can’t….pick…just…one!!!! GAH! Leave your jokes here.
Yes, you read that right (and there’s no way I don’t get mocked by my friends about watching this). The CW is making a new version of the Fox classic, 90210. While I didn’t know any of the actors that they were rumoring to bring to the show, I did recognize the newest addition, aka the new “Cindy Walsh” - Lori Loughlin. Yup, for you Full House Fans (and frankly, how many kids of the 90s weren’t?), she was Aunt Becky, but now, she’s going to play “the mom role.”
Ah, its like I’m reliving my childhood all over again. Alright, truth be told, I didn’t really watch it much after a few years. Once Kelly and Dylan broke up, it was all over for me….oh man, did I give up too much information again?

Unless there are trades tonight or first thing tomorrow morning that require updates to my final 2008 NFL Mock Draft; this is it! For my previous mock draft, click here. Jishman’s previous mock is over here; but I am sure he will update his soon. Update: Jishman posted his latest mock draft (10 minutes after mine….hmmm)
I do predict trades. I have paid close attention to the rumors this past week and I have emailed various sources looking for input and from that, I have looked into the future and predicted some trades tomorrow.
I also must state that doing a mock draft up until the 14th or 15th pick is a science, there is actually a script you can follow. After the 15th pick, it is all magic… smoke and mirrors because all of the rumors are speculative. They are based on what might happen in the top half.
I write all of my drafts from a position of “what would I do if I were the GM” based on information I have followed, tracked, and run down. I have a good beat on what I think will happen and with that said, I present my final 2008 NFL Mock draft!!! (note: if a trade happens between now and Saturday, I may update based on that info)

It looks like the Matt Walsh soap opera has finally got a resolution scheduled.
NEW YORK — Roger Goodell is fully prepared to crack down again on the New England Patriots if his meeting with Matt Walsh uncovers a tape made of the St. Louis Rams’ final walkthrough practice before the 2002 Super Bowl.
“Taping a walkthrough is much different from what I punished them for,” the NFL commissioner said Thursday at a meeting of a group representing the Associated Press Sports Editors.
This is the only evidence that is pertinent to this investigation; a tape of the Rams walk through for the Super Bowl. If this tape or evidence does not exist, Matt Walsh, the NFL, Senator Spector and every other pundit owes the New England Patriots an apology for making this into something that we already knew; the Patriots recorded signals.

Looks like my nephew, Lance’s (Lansing goes by Lance now), team is getting lots of praise lately.
Let’s take a look at the rankings:
Baseball America/BCA, 17th in the nation.
Collegiate Baseball/ Easton Sports, 10th in the nation.
Perfect Game USA/ESPN, 10th in the country.
USA Today has two rankings for the team; 6th in the country and 4th in the South
And the for the best rankings of the list, we have Rise Magazine:
3rd in the country
1st (That is, the top ranked team) in the East!!!!
Way to go Lance!!! Keep up the great work down there….
(Btw, Steinbrenners, I hope you are paying attention.)
The Chiefs traded Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings for a 1st (17th overall) round pick and two other picks (the specifics haven’t been spelled out, yet). Either way, this makes the Chiefs a major player in the draft and changes the whole first round.
The Saints, Eagles, Ravens have all been rumored to be trading up. The Chiefs now have the ability to do whatever they want. Trade down and collect more picks or stay where they are and hope that Vernon Ghoulston, Chris Long or Matt Ryan fall into their lap at #5.
And it allows them to take Branden Albert at #17 and not pick the guard too high and have to shell out top 5 money for him….
I guess Jishman (here is his latest Mock) and I (here is my latest mock) have more work to do as we now will have to revamp our first round selections prior to Saturday at 3pm…. damn Chefs, “great googly-moogly!!”
I love breakfast. I do, and the one thing I hate about Passover is the ridiculous, bloated feeling you have after eating 15 boards of Matzah (yes, Jews really call them “boards”) and still not being full. One year, my roommate and I decided we were going to eat eggs every morning and grill steak every night for dinner. (After that holiday, my cholesterol was higher than Google’s stock price.) Well, this year, after my 4th board of Matzah, I decided I needed something new - and filling - for breakfast. I really didn’t want to go through another day where my blood-sugar level was low and I was pissed off. I decided eggs was as good a place to start as any. Knowing that I also like putting salsa on my eggs and there was NOTHING wrong with the nation’s most popular condiment on this g-d forsaken holiday, I knew what had to be done. But how would I get past the tortilla issue? LATKES! YES! What was more fundamentally Jewish than Latkes? Sure, it was the wrong holiday, but eggs and potatoes is about as “breakfasty” as they come. I tried both home fries (as suggested by Brammie McHates-You) and sure, they were good but not as much as the latkes. The latkes really made my day.
No joke. This meal had everything I wanted. It was filling, had protein, vegetables, flavor, and most importantly, no Matzah. I loved it and had no headache. A job well done. (more…)
